Tax Estimator
Estimate property taxes from an assessed value and taxing district.
How the estimate is calculated
A Kentucky real-estate bill is the assessed value (less the homestead exemption where it applies), divided by 100, multiplied by the sum of the rates levied by every district the property lies in — the Commonwealth, the county, the school district, a city if inside one, and any special districts such as fire or library. Rates are expressed in cents per $100 of assessed value and are published each fall in the Department of Revenue’s property tax rate book.
The estimator shows each district’s line so you can see where the bill goes. Use the property search to start from a parcel’s current assessment and taxing district.
Estimate only
This tool produces an estimate. The Sheriff’s tax bill controls. Per-parcel charges (for example a timberland fire-protection fee billed per acre) and prior-year balances are not included.
